Art Prizes calling in March 2025

Art Prizes calling this March

These amazing sponsored prizes are inviting you to send in your entry right now.

Welcome to our first email using this new email app - Kit.com

I'm still learning how to use this Kit.com to send newsletters, and if I'm lucky, all the links work fine, and it is only delivered to those who are current subscribers. It is quite different to Mailchimp, so let's see how I go. I encourage anyone who receives this email and experiences any problems with it to send me an email at support @ art-prizes.com telling me what went wrong. And if you recently unsubscribed from our Mailchimp list, just unsubscribe from this one, and you won't receive another email from us. Over the next couple of months, we're also looking to trim the mailing list to just those who regularly open the newsletter.

More about the Inaugural Young Paddo Prize

Calling all parents and teachers! The Inaugural Young Paddo Art Prize is here, and it’s the perfect opportunity to inspire the next generation of artists. Open to children and teens aged 5 to 18, this exciting competition invites young creators to paint their vision of the Australian landscape on A4 paper. As an adjunct to the prestigious Paddington Art Prize, now in its 22nd year, this is a chance for young artists to shine on a national stage.
Why should you encourage your child or student to enter? Art is more than just a creative outlet—it’s a powerful tool for self-expression, confidence-building, and connecting with the world around us. By painting the Australian landscape, young artists can explore the beauty of our country, from its rugged coastlines to its vast outback, fostering a deeper appreciation for nature and culture.
The Young Paddo Art Prize is more than a competition; it celebrates young talent. Winning entries will be showcased alongside the Paddington Art Prize, giving young artists a unique platform to share their work with a wider audience. Plus, the experience of participating can ignite a lifelong passion for art and creativity.

December 2025 There are no prizes without finalists The effort and expense that artists incur to enter art prizes is quite extraordinary and is unfortunately often overlooked. We want to record those efforts on behalf of the art prize sector and are continuing to build a unique dataset of finalists for prizes. We can't do this for all prizes as the workload is too great, but we do try to cover as many as we can. I believe this is important data and I'm willing to wait for arts organisations...

November 2025 If you're viewing this on your phone go to landscape mode for best results due to the larger tables. Shared finalists across prizes in 2025 You may have read about a new prize called the Banksia Prize which, according to the Founders' Letter, is in response to bias in the judging of the bigger Australian art prizes. The Banksia Prize offers all artists an equal chance to be recognised. In most of our nation's top art prizes, judges are aware of who created each work, allowing...

October 2025 What a brilliant GIVEAWAY for one of our lucky followers - ONE free entry to the John Villiers Outback Art Prize. Can you support these important regional Australian art prizes and the communities that rely on them? It's a prize held in Winton, Central Queensland, a beautiful part of regional Australia - where daily life is the complete opposite of city life. I went there in 2023 and found it to be amazing. Alongside the community's strong support for the visual arts, Winton also...
